This movie may end up being very cool. But why the eff does Hollywood have to rewrite stories that have such great source material? I might enjoy this film for it's glitz and glamour, but ultimately I want to see some timeline and personality continuity with the characters I’ve been reading about my whole life. It basically comes down to the deference between a good movie and a great movie. I’m sick of the opening weekend cash’n’dash leaving the moviegoers feeling like someone took a crap in their eyes for $10 of their hard earned coin. Sure, sometimes I just want to have fun at the theater, watch some eye candy and be dazzled by explosions, just not with character I grow up with. Once a character is written and handed over to the public, it belongs to us and needs to be treated as such. The studio folk need to know their place is that of a teacher/mentor that guides the carefully crafted character along it’s way and maybe molding it a bit. Not some Nazi mad scientists splicing DNA, wipe memories, ripping open portals in time and hurling our heroes into a world that their massive egos rule with impunity. If you love a storyline/character enough to make a feature length film about them, what makes you think you can do it better than the people that have been doing it for all these years, Mr. Singer? You ego maniac.

Ay nena this needed Hugh Jackman.  The fabulosa factor is missing without him in this.

I like these Bio's they've done.  A little not cool with what they've done to Havok as he has been a personal fav of mine.  But I do like the look of the film.  I never really thought about the continuity screw up until I was reading the comments.  They really did fudge it big time.

But this looks somewhat promising to me.

Bryazarro,

Weird that you don't like the Havok changes, I'm a big Havok fan too, and thought it was cool. Not arguing, just sayin' I mean they did change him big time, but I love they kept the circle on the chest. I also liked how his blast were a reddish hue, to connect him to Cyclops a little.

Imagine how these would be cooler for us diehard X-men fans if:

1) Cyclops would be in the Havok teaser instead

2) Iceman (in the aquarium) and Angel (flying) in the Banshee teaser

3) Beast is Beast but substitute Mystique with Lorna Dane (ok, she was never really Beast's love interest but she joined the original X-men with Havok)

A wasted opportunity to set the X world right.

Still I'll be checking this out. I think it'll be a good film

This is looking better with each clip.  It is making me interested and curious.  Gonna be a hell of a summer!

I saw the trailer at the theatre today when I saw Thor (excellant movie by the way).  Now I've been reading X-Men since '78 and I have to say First Class throws continuity not just out the window but over the cliff.  So many things I was going WTF with.  Even so the trailer looks pretty cool, so long as I work hard to not compare the movie in any way with the books I think it'll be a good watch.

Look I have been hating on this movie for a while but to be honest it does look like a quality film. I just wish fox would sell the rights back to marvel for all things mutant so it can keep some form of continuity. Fox just pimps out the characters for whatever they see fit. Next thing you know they will say that Havok is Cycops father not his brother.

This looks amazing.  I'll just go in and watch as if its a "what if" story and all will be goood in the universe.  Let this be the starting ground for the new X-men continuem and I'll deal as long as we Matthew Vaught Quality films
