Just Google:

cuban missile crisis Navy

cuban missile crisis submarine

See what I mean?

Argh! I so want to hate this movie but the clips I'm seeing are so good. Damn! Why couldn't they reboot the franchise instead of using this mucked up Singer continuity???? This magic trick scene could have been redone with Mimic (Calvin Rankin) instead of Mystique.

I totally agree when filmmakers get sloppy and don't do their research. But at the same time, is this really a historical drama or biographical film? It's not like mutants actually saved us from this Crisis. If the filmmakers want to change the course of history by having mutants save us from this Crisis, then they could change the type of submarines.

marcd, dude with all due respect are you serious? It's the X-Men, it's fantasy. If you get annoyed by simple liberties that are taken with these sort of films you must walk maround mad all the time. Or are you trying to impress us with your knowledge of naval vessels. Relax buddy, you'll enjoy the movie more

MrJawbreakingEquilibrium 5/12/2011 6:40:59 AM

Um, Marc, nor were there mutants that helped stopped it. Oh, MY LORD!

On an unrelated topic does anybody know if you can re-break/fracture your shoulder (if you broke in years ago) by simply sleeping on it wrong. I'm in so much pain I'm about to throw up but sure and hell don't want to go the the ER. Been hurting for weeks but can't get into VA anytime soon.

MrJawbreakingEquilibrium 5/12/2011 6:43:54 AM

Also, looking elsewhere.  Just happened to pop in my head now. And I probably shouldn't be typing.

Batmite 5/12/2011 7:18:12 AM

My thoughts exactly.  Go to the hospital.  Here are the possible outcomes:

  1. It's broken, and they fix it.  Pain goes away sooner than if you put it off.
  2. It's not broken, and you get the satisfaction of knowing that.
Wiseguy 5/12/2011 7:33:54 AM

Do like me, live with the pain. Over time you'll adapt and won't even notice it.....for the most part

But as far as breaking it by sleeping wrong, I doubt it as long as it healed properly the first time. More than likely a pinched nerve or sprained ligaments which could mean a tear. But I ain't no doctor

violator14 5/12/2011 8:59:12 AM

Marcd-dude im totally with you man!! They TOTALLY screwed up the submarines!!! lol.....Another thing to add to the box of screwed up history in this movie!    >=)

Bryzarro 5/12/2011 9:02:13 AM

I hate when they do that in movies!!  This "Captain America" flick seems like it's going to ripe with Historical inaccuracies.  I mean they got a group called Hydra.....um duh!!  No such thing!!
