Honestly, people on here crack me up. I'm all for authenticity but at some point I have to say c'mon man its just a movie.

@MrJaw I thought you were going with some lethal weapon reference there for a moment. I'm no doctor and I never played one on TV but I would suggest you hit your nearest urgent care to get that checked out.

I see a lot of positive comments about this new X-Men movie.  I will see it for sure.  Only because it is an  X-Men movie.  But for me..... It looks worse than X-3.

I am struggling with getting excited about it. Or even remembering it is coming out soon.

I understand the responses from my fellow maniacs on this, but my point was that if you are going to make an actual historical event serve as the focus of a drama like the X-Men intervening in the Cuban Missile Crisis, then you ought to get the facts and details right. The Cuban Missile Crisis had more than enough drama as shown by the excellent Missile of October which largely used correct stock footage.

Now regarding Captain America, as long as Steve Rogers doesn't interact with FDR, Churchill, Stalin, Eisenhower or Bob Hope, that's okay. If Cap isn't involved in the Normandy invasion, the Battle of the Bulge or even searching for Private Ryan, I'm okay. As long as Cap and Bucky go after the Red Skull, Hydra, etc. in accordance eith the hidden history of World War Two according to Jack Kirby and Stan Lee, I'm okay.

'nuff said!

Marc, what did you think of Forrest Gump?

TNAuditor 5/12/2011 10:55:19 AM

Um, am I weird if this makes me tingle in my naughty parts?

marcd30319 5/12/2011 10:56:24 AM

Forrest Gump?  At least he wasn't on the grassy knoll .. or was he?

ElBaz13 5/12/2011 12:51:06 PM

Marc, if you want to mention innacuracies with this movie, as an X-men fan, I'm more concerned the choice of characters in Fox/Singer's messed up X-men mythology than the innacuracy of the subs. Havok not being Cyke's brother (or explain the 40 year gap between the two), Beast being a teen here therefore a 60 year old in X3, Emma Frost in Wolverine as a kid, now here as a sexy woman., and so on. Those are innacuracies (and insults to anyone who followed this series of films)
I guess I sound like a broken record as I seem to say this over and over on every Mutants: First Class posting. Yeah, I'm a whiny geek fanboy bitching about this movie. I guess that's what having over 1000 X-men comics/tie-ins will do to someone like me.
Again, love the teasers. Love the concept. Hate the continuity.
But on that note, I really loved the trailers for X3, X-men Origins: Wolverine and Spidey 3 and look what happened there.

The Comedian was on the Grassy Knoll.

ElBaz-Amen my brotha. Amen. Ya, our whining has been a very re-occuring theme around here for every article on this movie. Although the direction and the action scenes do look pretty awesome, i know i still wont be able to enjoy it as much knowning how much cooler it would have been if it was done with the true origins. And i know we've been annoying some of the maniacs who love the look of this film, but i do still feel our whining has a purpose to possibly the executives ( or their minions) who read feedback on sites like these. Anyways, i do look forward to seeing this despite my complaints. Especially Fassbender as Magneto, and that red Nightcrawler's dad-dude-hellfire-club-member-mutant-man thingy.

In X3 Beast said he was really old when talking to Wolverine. Emma Frost in Wolverine was never called Emma Frost within the movie so that could be played off as a relative or something if they wanted to. But I'm with ignoring the whole Wolverine:Origins movie all together. I'm sure Havok will end up being Cyclops' Dad or Uncle or something, but that just goes with the time line they created. Comics change timelines and origins all the time and that's how I look at this movie. It looks amazing to me and I'm interested to see what they do with it. I'm still hoping to see an X4 as well with more Angel and throw in Gambit to replace the Wolverine void. But that's just me.
