I agree with Shadow, the X-Men have been twisted around so many times in the comic world that none of you should be beeching about what they did in the movie.  My God people, look at all the different versions of the X-Men in the last 20 years.

The movie was very good, much better than Last Stand.  My wife even liked it more than I did and said she enjoyed it more than Thor.  My only compliant is that I didn't like the cast of mutants prof X gathered.  Otherwise, Bacon did a great Shaw, a fantastic villian prior to Magneto.

BO wise, I understand it's importance and unless this thing has legs you have to hope the overseas market brings in the cash otherwise you won't see X-Men on the big screen for a very long time.  Well, not counting Wolverine.

Great movie.  Loved it!

I agree with shadow and Movieguy also. This is the X-Men movieverse created by Singer. You either have to except that going in or just don't see it.This is the version the general movie audience is familiar with and since it's successful there is no reason to reboot it.

When you say you want to see the "real" comic book X-men you mean you want to see the version of the comic's continuity when you started reading it. You want your favorite members with the realtions to each other you liked. You wanted them to make the movie you've had in your head since you were a kid. Well, nobody knows that version but you and until you work up through the filmmaking ranks to get to the place where you can do your vision you are just not going to get it. Sometimes by chance the current moviemakers hit on alot of things you wanted to see but they will still be making their version from their heads. As I've said, I am just happy they made a damn good story in the movieverse of their creation.

I really liked the movie.  Loved the cameo's.  I didn't think this was really a reboot.  I thought they said this was a prequel that they took certain liberties with and just said to forget about the Wolverine movie.  I can see how this sort of fits into the X-Universe.  Charles knew Banshee a long time before he created the X-Men.  The Havoc thing annoys me but whatever.  Beast was one of the originals.  This didn't really feel like a school yet, so maybe the next movie will focus more on the X-Men we know.

I can always hope.  In any case the story, acting and directing was strong.

Finally an X-Men movie that didin't make want to hurl.  I was extremely happy with this film even though the continuity was off.  If they continue to make the X-men films at this level... you'll hear no complaints from me.

Just saw it.  I definitely went in thinking it was going to disappoint. I was counting on it to disappoint. I am NOT disappointed.  Continuity, I am over.  But Beast looked like a cross between a Build-A-Bear and a Monchichi.  Absolutely despised him in this film.  Even the actor playing him brought his C game performance to the film.

I have no other complaints except Darwin! (Just disliked him a lot in the comics)  Other then those two complaints. It was a great movie!  I am a fan of the X-Singer movies.  This one run a close up to X2 for me. Which is my favorite X-Singer film.

even though we can accept this version (history) of the xmen as opposed to the comics, we shouldnt look past the errors made with regards to the continuity within the movie franchise - most of the viewers wont notice that much but it is disappointing nevertheless ... hope they fix it somehow

but it is a great movie

Wiseguy-lol, to be honest that comment REALLY wasn't aimed at u. I was trying to talk to the few guys who were overanalyzing into ridiculous details on why Xmen would do better than Thor and I was just thinking it was a lil too much. Funny thing is, right after I posted it, i thought to myself, "oops, I hope Wise doesnt take it personally..." hahaha.. But ya either way, i really didnt care about who was right or not, but ill still eat my crow for that.

Watching it tonight! Pretty excited to see Magneto!! From what i've seen Fassbender is the Magneto we shoulda got, and seems to carry the aura of the comic-book-Magneto we all loved. Looking forward to all the "mystery cameos".... u guys are talking about the Cyclops, Iceman, Angel, and Jean Grey cameos right????!!!

I loved it. I grew up reading comics..and to this day..i still dont know who does what ..or when or where..cause they change so much over the years. i havent been keeping up with comics much lately since they are around 4 bucks a piece...but they tried to make this xmen movie fresh...and keeping some of the basic storyline that we all know...but at the same time changing just a few things just to switch it up some. Just like the avengers movie coming out...MY Avenger team that i grew up on..was Captain America, Thor, Wasp, Antman, Iron Man, The Vision, and Scarlett Witch. But thats not gonna stop me from watching the movie or not loving it. Theres just some movies you CANT go tit for tat with the comic book..you have to change some things up.
