While I like where the story is going with X-Men: First Class, I'm not all that crazy about the characters being used. Havoc instead of Cyclops? I understand Fox might be trying to keep some consistency with the previous X movies, but I don't like it. The movie should be a complete reboot of the series if it's set in the 60s. Cyclops, Marvel Girl, Beast (before the blue hair), Angel and Iceman should be the first class. Still, I'm looking forward to the movie and hope it's a GOOD movie we all enjoy and not just another Fox super hero cash cow.

Please, no Brody for FF. Just a personal thing, but I don't like him at all. Never have.

Rob, there's been as many con as pro comments about the Pilgrim movie, so please don't make it sound like we were all shocked at how badly the movie performed. I said from the word go it would be a huge bomb. The more they tried to cram it down our throats with all of the behind-the-scenes video releases the more certain I was that the studio knew they had a clunker. I think the movie was very inventive and had a lot of positives, but the big negative was Cera. He was pretty awful in the movie. I really think the movie-going audience is tired of his schtick. His last couple movies prove it because they crashed and burned...Youth in Revolt and year One. Scott Pilgrim might have had a better box office take with a different lead. The studios tend to really push a movie if they know it's going to be DOA at the box offie. They did it with Scott Pilgrim just like that horrible Land of the Lost movie last year. I guarantee you the studio's going to try and cram Green Hornet down our throat because they know already it's going to tank. The studios do this in the hopes of having a big first weekend. They know after its released and word of mouth spreads about how crappy it is, the movie will drop off the face of the earth.

Im still not sure about the xmen movie. the third was decent but the downplaying of cyclop's character is going to be a hard one to get over.  I dont care about how bad it did, I still think Scott Pilrim was a great flick. too each their own I guess.

I have no idea how Brian Singer got into the world of comic book movies.  Hugh Jackman said that SInger would never let the actors read the comic books to better understand the characters. WTF!!!  Now for some rediculous notion he is seen as this golden boy for the genre.  Even though the majority of the fan base trash Superman and X films.  He is an idiot, a schmuck, a retard for taking perfectly adaptable characters and story lines and fowling them up.  NOW, to name a move Xmen, first class and not have the origial crew in the movie is asinine, not forgetting to mention that Xavier will have hair. WHEN DID HE EVER HAVE HAIR!!?! NEVER! I have been reading the Xmen for years, and this is such a botched job.  He and M.Nighshamalamdingdong must have made a deal with the devil, cause they both know how to botch a perfectly good storyline and turn it into a crap movie.

Glad to see Martin Campbell putting so much effort into delving deep into the the extensive variety of Lanterns who protect all the different sectors...plus the character models look f'n great

I'm a bit excited for X-Men. I think Singer and Fox did the best they could with the franchise previously.

As for Scott Pilgrim, I am tired of people being referred to as "sheep" cause they didn't go to a movie a select few wanted them to. Has it ever crossed anyone's mind that some just weren't interested in the movie? Cause I wasn't. I like Michael Cera. I like comic movies. I like original ideas. I just was not interested in seeing this. Plain and simple

X-Men 1st class ... Sounds like a shit storm waiting to happen

How can it be first class without Scott and Jean? They were infact the ACTUAL first students of Prof. X! WTF!!

Green Lantern is looking better and better all the time!!

Like I said previously, we fans are getting hung up on the title First Class. But what this movie looks to be is the Xmen Origins: Magneto plot re-packaged. That story was supposed to be about Mag's life after the Nazi camps and his bitterness towards prejudice and racism he experienced, his subsequent meeting with Xavier and their friendship, then the break-up over their different methods. Now it sounds like they have condensed the Magneto origin down mainly to the Mag/Xavier bromance and events around it which actually makes it a better story for general audiences.

Yes, we all know its not the First Class with Cyke, Jean, & Beast. But the public doesn't know that and it won't matter to them anymore than James Bond movies don't follow the books exactly. They just want a good movie.

As much as strident fans want a total re-boot, the X-films have all been successful and their is no incentive to do that anymore than Marvel should re-boot and re-cast the Iron Man movies. You don't mess with what's working. I'm holding faith with director Matthew Vaughn that he can turn in a great flick with the above elements. But I know that will never satisfy fans who want Fox execs and Singer's head on a pole.

Monkeyfoot you said a mouthful.  I for one think Marvel should purchase the right to all their properties hanging out there.  The movie title is X-Men: First Class... then damn it all give us the 1st class.  I want to see Scott, Jean, Hank, Warren, & Bobby. That's the starting line up, but Fox and Singer have bastard-ized the X-universe so badly, that I look at all these films as some twisted alternate universe.  It just isn't the the X-Men I know and love.  I've hated all these movies, with exception of the opening sequences in both X-Men and X-Men2.

But you absolutely right Monkeyfoot... absolutely

Monkeyfoot: Then they shouldn't have named it X-men: First Class. Either way, what disappoints me is that we're not getting a reboot of the X-men films, we're getting a rehashing of Bryan Singer's X-men. It's been done and those movies, while decent, did not reflect the comics very well at all. They were good for their time, but much higher quality and more faithful comic movies have come out since then.

Green Lantern looks amazing, though!!!!!!! I can't wait! This is the movie I'm looking forward to the most.
