With certain other comic book movies coming out this summer get a lot of buzz these days, the folks at Fox are looking to start drumming up a bit of their own as they've posted the official logo of the feature on their Facebook page, encouraging you to like it as well so you can get exclusive updates. There's been a smattering of shots from the feature shown over the last couple of months, and the teaser banner that was avidly disavowed by Matthew Vaughn, but this gives us something firm and official to work with.

It's also been revealed that the trailer for the feature will make it's debut on the Facebook page tomorrow too!

Plot Summary: X-MEN FIRST CLASS charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga, and reveals a secret history of famous global events. Before mutants had revealed themselves to the world, and before Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Not archenemies, they were instead at first the closest of friends, working together with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to prevent nuclear Armageddon. In the process, a grave rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men.

Wiseguy 2/9/2011 4:28:41 PM

I likes. Still looking forward to this despite everything.

Prof X is kinda keen on himself isn't he?

He could have run a more low key profile considering the whole "fear and hatred" thing.

Done well I think X-men movies have could be the duck's nuts due to the cool undertones about tolerance and discrimination - but its more likely to be about wanky one liners, action figures and video game spin-offs

Im going to give  this new re-boot a chance.

Because Fox owns the mutants does that mean Beast, Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver can't ever be in the Avengers movies?

mharsha 2/9/2011 6:40:12 PM

Well, Spiderman and other characters once appeared in Xmen comics, but I don't think that means that they own them as well. In fact, I know it doesn't. Maybe the Beast character, but I think if they haven't been used and they are not directly linked with Xmen like say Wolverine, they're fair game.

Carol Danvers who's powers were stolen by Rogue then became, as Binary, part of the Starjammers with Scott Summers' father is possibly in Avengers...I realize it's certainly not the same thing as Beast but...

This is more of a prequel than a reboot, isn't it?

And didn't Mania already post this logo a while back?

In any event, I'm really looking forward to this movie.  I think this is going to be a bit better than what most people are thinking.

GothicStorm 2/9/2011 10:42:45 PM

I'm not holding my breath for this movie.

Still, perhaps this will start a "reboot" of sorts for more X-men movies that stick closer to the comics than the last 3 and Wolverine. FOX should learn a thing or two from Marvel Studios... If you stick to the comic books that the fans want, you will have a Blockbuster hit in your possession and a huge franchise for years to come. (I'm still pissed at FOX for ruining Psylocke and many others in X3)

Stop trying to make the characters yours, FOX! Marvel should sue FOX and Sony for changing the storylines and trashing the trademark characters we have come to love! We love you, Sam Rami! I KNOW I would rather see Toby Mcguire as Spidey fighting alongside Black Cat and against Kraven and the Lizard in the next movie!!!

I Like it.... I like mutants... I like movies... I like macaroni and cheese

Predator1979 2/10/2011 5:27:14 AM

I think this will be a pretty good movie. i do wish they would stick more to the comics as far as characters and story plots but its kinda hard to incorparate that into the real world. Thats why Nolan said he wouldn't have cCayface or Mr Freeze in his Batman movies. So as long as its good i won't mind a bit. I mean really we can't expect all of the comic movies to be good. As long as we get to see our Comic heros on screen its better than not at all.

I personally hope that Deadpool gets made and they don't screw it up to bad. but as long as they make it i'm going to see it anyway. I mean I love the Predator movies just because ive been wanting another Predator movie since 1990 i could care less that it was only half as good as i wanted i still love it.

My Avatar should have been what the Predator hounds looked like in Predators

Badger 2/10/2011 5:31:54 AM

I'm not sure why it bothers me, but the text arching at the top of the logo is not centered in the ring like it should be.  It just looks off.  Seems like a bit of sloppy Photoshop work IMO.
