First Class was one of the better Super Hero movies I have seen. Good stories, good character development, good acting, good action. Keep it up, and I'll be there.

How would that work? Adding only one more mutant wouldn't really make them a team would it? Prof X, Banshee, Beast and Moira were all that was left right? They need more students.
The only mutant that I can see that they'd add that's able to go up against Magneto would be a young Jean Grey before Prof X put those blockers on her powers. Maybe he'll recruite her and she'll fight him then he'll put the blockers on her at the end. Although I don't think she'd be born at that point in time if they're calling this a prequel to the first 3 movies. Unless they just say, screw it, we're doing what we want. I dunno...just a thought.
The next mutant will be... Gambit. That would cause quite a stir.
How about this? Bring in Cable from the future. Let him get tangled up with Magento and make such a mess of things that he decides to go back in time a bit further to change things such that the first class of X-Men turns out to be Prof X, Beast, Iceman, Cyclops, Marvel Girl...
Nah, that's just crazy talk.
Millean- LMAO!!!! That is the most brilliant thing i've ever read on Mania!!!... actually EVER!!!!
I love this movie , and am absolutley forever in love with X-1 and X-2 they were fantastic. Pure X-men and I don't think a re-boot is necessary, but I'd watch a re-boot with an open mind.
If this was really a prequel, then They have already found Jean, because Prof X and Magneto found her together when he was still walking. So they already have her at the school and for the same reason they also already should have several other as well we just didn't see. Cyclops could take on Magneto. I mean no one could really take on magneto if you ask me other than Apocalypse, but as far as the X-men go, other than X, I'd say Cyclops could do some serious damage, and he is a crucial character if you ask me. Oh and I'm with Gauleyboy on this one.
Almostunbiased-Ur right about how they found Jean Grey together! And im sure they had her in the basement somewhere in the mansion along w/ Angel, Iceman and Cyclops in the kiddy playrooms.
However in the comics, Cyclops was never a match for Magneto cuz he could just put up his shield. And with ur reasoning, Havok would also be an even match for Magneto who is already there. Only way he could do serious damage, is if Magneto was looking the other way and he blasted him in the back. But that could be said about anyone with a plastic knife.
This core team talk is just... well its nonsense. I would be an interesting story, but if you think that's the only way to get a good x-men movie, I'm not sure what you would make that assessment. First Class was great, despite it not being the original 5, maybe because it wasn't. You can have your ideal x-men movie, but there are a ton of good stories to be told other than the rebooted exactly like the comics origin story. Hell we haven't even seen apocalypse or a sentinel based movie yet.
Almostunbiased...what happened in the originals doesn't make sense in the prequels anyway. When he went to get Jean he was walking and BALD. Yet he's not bald in the prequels and he's in a wheelchair. Plus if they had Jean already in the 60's...she'd be in her 40's in the original X-Men movies.
Oh, are we basing X-Men movies on the comics now? I didn't realize :P
That aside, like (most) everyone else, I enjoyed this outing more then Wolverine and would not mind seeing another flick with the same cast.
