remorDeth- There's nothing wrong with Xmen fans wanting an Xmen movie with actual Xmen!!! Would we be happy if the Avengers movie didnt have Iron Man, Thor & Captain America, but instead had the Black Panther, Daredevil, and War Machine?? U may not understand why we'd rather have an xmen movie with xmen, but we sure as hell don't understand why you dont understand us either. And it doesn't HAVE to be exactly like the origins story. Just at least have some of the characters in it! Can u really tell me u enjoyed watching banshee, that Angel girl, Mystique, and Darwin?? COME ON!!!! Granted, it was a Prof X and Magneto based story which saved the movie, but it's cuz the other characters sucked ass!!!!

Are we saying it was a bad movie?? .... Hell no.... Are we saying it could have been 10 times more awesome?? FUK-YAA!!!!!

 Wow, Magneto assasinating JFK.  A little hard core even for this younger version of Eric.  Either way, get Vaughn on board and let's make this movie!

My guess is that it will be Storm.  She could go toe to toe with Magneto.  The special effects would be pretty bad ass too.

X-Men first class was easily my favorite movie from this past summer, I think Vaughn has already made some really entertaining films and I'd love to see him do a sequel.  The premise sounds interesting, I like that they would stick to the 1960's setting, that to me is very interesting!  Those were crazy times for this planet!

I wishe people would get past what the X-Men films aren't and enjoy them for what they are.  The original X-Men cartoon series deviated from the comic book continuity and it's fondly remembered.  I take the film series as an alternate reality X-Men, sepearte from the core 616 reality.

Having said that., I do wish they would have better characterization in these movies.  Rogue was more like Kitty Pryde in personality but with Rogue's powerset.  Or part of it.

There are too many intertwining storylines and established coninuity for
a faithful adaptation in film form.  Also, it should be remembered that the original lone-up didn't sell that well to begin with.

I know I'm late to the party on this one but I just finished seeing the 1st one on DVD...Why in the hell couldn't the other X-Men movies be that quality???  I REALLY enjoyed it.  And I can't wait to see what they do with the 2nd one.

@tremordeth and sinisterpryde

I don't think you understand the full scope. As a diehard X-men along with Wiseguy and Violator, a lot of us our pissed on how Fox has treated this franchise. I'm not saying First Class was a terrible movie. It was a good comicbook movie. But it was not a good X-men movie. Fox had the opportunity to reboot this franchise after the critical bashing of Wolverine. DC did it with Batman from Batman and Robin to Batman Begins. Sony and Spidey are also doing it. Sony probably thought Raimi's Spidey was missing something. Fox could have just easily erased the continuity nightmare of Singer's X-men universe and got Vaughn to do a kick-ass reboot.  The diehard X-men fans would have been happy seeing the original 5 and the non-diehards would have been happy to see a good X-men flick (still love the 60s Cold War era). But they catered to Singer and he continued his version of the X-men universe. As a result, we got Darwin and Angel with butterfly wings as founding members of the X-men and Azazel as a member of the Hellfire Club. These characters are brutal in the comics and got screen time over classics like Polaris, Mastermind, Unus, Mimic, etc...?

And yes, you compare to the original cartoon and how it deviated from the comics but the original cartoon wasn't that good. Actually, as an X-men fan, I thought it stank. Crappy animation, so-so voices and terrible storytelling. All it did was fill my void of X-men material until the right source came along. They have gotten better over the years. X-men Evolution was ok. Wolverine and the X-men was the closest thing to the comicbooks.

and sinisterpryde. The original 5 did not sell well...in 1963. Had the been members in a proper X-men reboot with the solid leads of McVoy and Fassbender, it still would have sold well and made us X-geeks happy.

So true, so true.  The first X-Men should have been the core team.  I agree.  Wolverine works better alone.  Even he says it bub.  I like the film a lot, even though it sort of went off track a bit, putting Havok in the movie instead of Cyclops.  I believe Alex is the younger brother of Scott.  But, it's cool to see other X-Men in the franchise.  I just wish they would put another 6 different members for the next movie.  And what are they going to call it "X-Men First Class II?  Or X-Men Second Class?

To be perfectly honest I like what they are trying to do with the Films. as it's seperate from the comics. Comics were designed in different times without the screen in mind. This way they can do something that works on the budget they have and still tell a decent story. I really enjoyed First Class.

The Films run in their own Mythos' (as Wolverine Origin is totaly outside of the other movies canon as far as I'm concnerned and most everyone else too)

I think First Class used Wolverine perfectly.

They'll probably call it X-Men: Year One.
