With Activision's latest X-MEN game, WOLVERINE'S REVENGE, coming out this month the company has unveiled its next mutant hero project that it's got in development -- X-MEN: LEGENDS. The game will be a real-time role-playing game (RPG) that will finally allow players to create, train and control individual X-Men as part of a team.
Players will first choose from a pool of 15 X-Men which characters will go on their team. Heroes like Wolverine and Colossus can inflict a great deal of damage, but if you need stealth mutants like Nightcrawler or Gambit would work better. You'll face foes such as the mutant destroying Sentinels, the underground Morlocks and even Magneto's Brotherhood of Mutants. You'll even be able to play against others inside the X-Men's famous Danger Room.
The game is expected out sometime in 2004 and will be available for the Xbox, PlayStation 2 and Gamecube systems.
