Possibly, if director D.J Caruso gets his way and gets approval from his could-be lead star of the comic adaptation, Shia LaBeouf. That would be another three films between director Caruso and LaBeouf after Disturbia and the currently filming Eagle Eye. While talking to USA Today, here's what the director had to say..

Caruso says he has had "preliminary discussions" with Shia LaBeouf to play Yorick.

"For me, thematically, the most important thing and the reason I want to do this is … I don't want to say it's the end of the innocence, but it's actually a man-child who has to become a real man now," Caruso says. "I think it's a really simple, beautiful theme, but at the same time, the movie's really pop-culture entertainment."

While the original plan was to squeeze the entire series into one movie, Caruso says the film will cover the first 14 issues of the comics. He adds that this opens the door for a trilogy.

Jesus H Tapdancing Christ more Shia? Would somebody please explain Shia LaBeouf"s appeal to me? I don't know what it is. I mean I consider myself relatively intelligent but for the life of me I just can't figure it out.

Hes a solid actor. He seems to be able to hold his own well. I would rather see him then a bunch of other pretty boy Hollywood types that can't act. Shia reminds me of a young Tom Hanks. good actor, but never really like the "Hollywood Hunk" type. More funny and charming. and DJ Caruso has made a few movies, all of them good before hittinh it big with Disturbia. It makes sense that the two want to work together, being Disturbia seemed to blow them both up. Let's see what happens.

Not Shia LaBeouf again? What does he have pictures on everybody? Nobody I know likes him or goes out of their way for him. Hope he hits another walgreens. He's like the new Jar jar binks.

OK would someone explain why not Shia? I see some of you guys griping about the acting in movies. Then they get a decent actor and you gripe about that. Aside from his nononononononono what is wrong with him? The kid can act. Spielberg is amazed by the guy do you guys trust him.

Never heard of Y the last man. What is it about?

Yeah,I for one, don`t get the fanboy hate of Shia. Its like its cool now, to dislike a good actor. If he was some pretty boy, shithead starring in crappy movies, who couldn`t act, I would understand it, but the simple fact of the matter is, the kid can act. Maybe its just jealousy because he`s not some "hollywood hunk" and pretty much a normal looking dude who is hitting it big. He looks more like a fanboy than an actual star so some fanboys feel that it could have been them.

Couldn't agree with you more ponyboy. Everyone goes through these phases where they hate on the guy that seems to be getting more and more screen time. Seriously, if he wasn't good, I seriously doubt Steven Spielberg would cast him for something as big as an Indiana Jones film just for face. It's sometimes almost like people possibly enjoy things with certain people in them, but are afraid to admit they enjoy it or the person, so they hate on them. Or they hate a movie so bad that the only way to bash it is to start hating on the actors, starting with the most popular. People are just too freakin' picky anymore. I'll see this more because he's in it.

I don't think it's a fanboy hate, in the manner to which you speak ponyboy76, but that he is a douche. He is arrogant and thinks that he is deserving. This kind of pisses a lot of people off BECAUSE he is average looking (for Hollywood that is) and most people would be greatful and appreciative of their success where he thinks it's expected. Then to hear that directors are lining him up with projects and producers want him in several of their films, it's like telling everybody that he's right for acting this way. This isn't a bash against his acting ability. I do think that he has done well with what he's been given.
I for one DO NOT think that he is like Tom Hanks. Hanks worked his ass off to get to where he's at and even had to dress up as a woman for a tv show for two seasons. This guy IS the average man with major ACTING talent. I could go on and on about this, but it comes down to the fact that the two don't even come close.
I for one am glad that this comic series is being taken seriously. I was upset at the idea of a "one movie" project for this. I just don't think that the director should, when handed a thick stack of papers with organized letters on it, run to Shia's house, panting heavily, and beg him to be in it. Give some other people a chance.

I know why people hate Shia it because he isn't old enough yet, no one respects actors until they get older. Brad Pitt, is a good example of this but he kept getting good movies why is that? Cause Directors reconize talent. Heath Ledger was just starting to gain respect at his age. in 5-10 years Shia will be the Actor everyone wants to work with and he will get to pick and choose his roles.
I do agree he reminds me of Tom Hanks, the difference is that he is being discovered at an younger age. He was on a shitty family channel show and has moved on from there.
His attitude? Who gives a fuck if he can act(which he can) Russel Crow can act and he is a duche but he makes good movies. I don't care about how people are in real life its about the story on the screen. Not sure where this thing about his additude come in cause Directors and actors who work with him have nothing to say but good things.

Yeah, honestly, the only people I hear saying that Shia is "arrogant and a douche" are the guys around here. Maybe he was a dick in one interview or something and now that is what every fan who dislikes him points to. Everything I have heard from industry people, say that he is a nice dude.
