The Review!3 out of 5
The CD comes with a ten-page insert. The insert contains on the first page a song tittle list, which also provides the singer of each song. Thrown throughout the entire insert are small pictures of characters and situations found in the anime itself, some of them are quite amusing. The insert contains English lyrics for all the songs. The last page of the insert has a list of the songs with composer information and arrangement information for each song as well as credits for the CD itself.
This CD is a compilation of songs sung by the Japanese voice actors that worked on the show, and spent time in the studio. The music is as varied as the characters are, and seems to grasp each individual's personality. There are a few of the more famous voice actors in this series, and yet as the songs play out, you can’t see anyone but the character that the song represents. It’s a great trip through the minds and emotions of the characters. Most of the songs are the upbeat J-pop type that really keep your toes tapping, and your head bopping. There is one song in particular however, that just seems to move you more than the others, and it happens to be because of the beat… the tittle says it all, as The Devil’s Cha Cha Cha made me move in my seat as I listened. The only complaint that I have on this CD is it just seemed that the songs didn’t reach their full potential. Yes, they moved me in my chair, yes, they were upbeat and fun, but they seemed to be missing something. Like sitting at a recital and hearing the shyest singer sing, you know they have the potential to rock the house, if they could just get past that little barrier of fear. That’s the impression I get while listening to this one. Though I liked it immensely, and will recommend it to many people, I’m still waiting for that shy singer to come into his/her potential.
I liked it muchly, but it did leave something to be desired.
Fangboy says…Not bad, not bad at all.
