FerretJohn...are we forgetting a little movie called "The Dark Crystal"?...just sayin'...when done properly, it can be done.

I don't know, I don't think I am excited about a Yoda movie. Boba fett would be better I would think. Or something new and different instead of rehash for dinner again.
I want to go back and explore Yoda's beginnings because I think this has been left blank long enough.
I'd rather stand alone movies that have nothing to do with characters from the known movie story line. There is so much that can be told in the Star Wars universe that we don't have to focus already established characters.
That being said, I'll be there opening day anyway.
No. No more prequels. There are always limitations to prequels. We all know if there is a young Yoda movie, we know he can't die. We know the supporting characters that he will meet from the SW universie will not die. We know the supporting characters he will meet not in the 6 movies will more than likely die.
I don't mind hearing the back story of such characters but the major problem of prequels is they have no element of danger or surprise because of their limitations. And even when the writers/directos start to get a bit creative, it creates conflicting storylines. ex: Anakin building 3PO
I would prefer brand new stuff. Brand new characters that we have never seen.
Every Star Wars character of any consequence is getting their own movie. I am sure Han and Chewie are on the list. So is Boba Fett. Who else could they add to list? They are doing the Avengers treatment to Star Wars. That is what Disney said. As an OG Star Wars freak I can only say YES YES YES YES. These movies will be light years better than the Prequels so it is all good with me. His Wookipedia page is rather bare for the beginnings of his life so they can do pretty much what ever they want to. Bring on the Yoda movie..
I disagree ElBaz. First, this cat is what like 900 years old. So he can definitely meet people that live a natural healthy life and have basically no impact on the original story if you go back far enough.
Second, the element of danger? come on, if everyone felt like that no one would go see IM, Superman, Spidey, Batman etc etc because we know they're not going to die. It's up to the writers and director to make it feel dangerous, if not for the hero for others for sure
Lastly this can be brand new stuff with Yoda. So much of his life has been left unexplored that the tales are limitless. If you can do what they've done with Clone Wars which takes place between eps. 2 and 3 then you can definitely do some epic stories with Yoda
Yes and no. Ashoka. A fun character on the Clone Wars show. It's pretty much a given we know what will happen to her since she is not in the prequel movies.
I just think the prequels have been overdone. Time to explore new characters.
We've had 3 prequel movies, 6 seasons of Clone Wars cartoons (I'm including the Tartatovsky one). I just thnk we've seen enough of Yoda, Obiwan, Anakin, etc...I like the character but I could live without him. I also like the idea of Yoda's alien race/origin being a mystery. Kind of reminds me of Wolverine iin the X-men comics back when I read them in the 70s/80s. The mystery behind the character was very intriguing but the moment the multiple origins popped up (and the fact he was so old and done everything possible in history) kind of lost me there.
Interesting, not sure if a live-action movie could be carried by a CG/Muppet lead but it might be worth a try. Personally I've been looking for stories featuring a younger Yoda in the prime of his adventuring days, I'm surprised no writers have authored any.
