Bruce Lee had the power of the almighty script and acting skills so poisoinously awful that even Norris could not survive.

@violator14 - Were you really the only the one to call my bluff earlier or are the others just too polite to bash that gay Star Wars premise?...

Despite the underwhelming response to my cunning dark-side-mockery earlier in this thread I've decided to reveal the source behind the Yoda looking like a gene-altered nut-sack comment. It's actually a quote taken from a 1991 Tank Girl comic (Surprised none of you Maniacs had stumbled upon it before). Tank's in a cave with some witch doctor who has a vision that she will conquer the world and gain a huge following. Tank responds by saying dreamily "Just like Luke Skywalker..." and the which doctor replies "Yes, except that you won't meet a tiny little mutant who looks like a scrotum". I really should take up reading Tank Girl. Apparently we ALL should...

As I read this article, I mentioned to my 17-yr old daughter that there were going to be some stand alone Star Wars movies.  She replied that it was time for "Jar Jar Binks The Movie."

Me-sah is sthinkin' dat's a for-sur idea, yes-sah!!!

Now, the real reason I personally don't want to see any more Star Wars prequels is not because I don't think they could turn out to be very entertaining movies. I just believe Star Wars has so much more to win by daring to boldly go where noone's gone before. Another thing that also makes me a little cautious is the fact that not one single classic Star Wars character got any more interesting after having its background story fleshed out in the prequels. I truly believe that Darth Vader, The Emperor, Boba Fett, Jabba, Yoda and Obi-wan all lost some of their integrity and mystic qualities from all the added exposure in Episode I-III. In my opinion the only truly great Star Wars characters of the prequels were Qui-gon and Maul (I never wanted Samuel L. Jackson to be in Star Wars. He was already bigger as an actor than any new character of his could ever hope to become). I guess only time will tell if Disney will succeed where Lucas failed so completely.

i think it's a cool idea to see how the jedi master began his legacy. there are so many things just in that, that could be good. he did live a long ass life, so why not take a look at it...? now a young han solo movie would be bad ass also, they could just call it "SOLO"..

SarcasticCaveman 2/6/2013 12:54:37 AM

Oh, come on, this isn't a Star Wars prequel, per se...it's a stand alone movie about a character who was already 900 years old when we first met him.  Who CARES if it's a prequel.  With 900 years to play with, it's not like they have any restrictions to jam a story into.  They can pretty much do whatever the hell they want.  I would love to meet cool characters that were dead centuries before even "A Phantom Menace"...what, NOBODY wants to see the badass new god that trained Yoda in the ways of the beard?

This is just a rumor, Disney hasn't confirmed anything regarding what specific character will be featured in a solo SW film.  Iger denied to say in a recent interview which characters would be getting the solo film treatment. He did say though that they have had several "creators" pitch them ideas, and want to bring some characters to life. I'll believe a stand alone Yoda movie when I am sitting in the theater with a bucket of popcorn in hand.
