Holy crap!  I didn't think to put spoiler warning up there, but I guess I should have.  My apologies.  I'll delete and repost it for other peeps.

Yep, when this show was first announced, I rolled my eyes and said "Epic Fail" to myself.  How wrong was I?  While I'm not ready to call it better than BTAS & JLU, it is right on par with it.  (Though I do like the animation better).  And to have such a great DCU series that treats Batman, Superman & Wonder Woman (and the whole Justice League for that matter) as throw away characters is practically mind-blowing.

I LOVE this series.  Can you tell?

SPOILERS

That said, this episode was good, but not  one of my favorites.  Roy Prime/Speedy/Arsenal basically committed attempted murder (at worst) and an act of terrorism (at best) and it looks like Red & Green Arrow and going to just look the other way.  Not to mention the fact that Arsenal appears that he is going to blindly accept a high tech prosthesis from Lex Luthor (the man who ruined his life).  I understand this gets us to where the writers want us to go, but all of that is a tad too much to swallow (but I will anyway).

Finally, YJ jumped 5 years into the future.  Evidently that is more than enough time for all of the following to happen:

  1. Dick Grayson outgrows the role of Robin to become Nightwing.
  2. Jason Todd becomes Robin II.
  3. Jason Todd dies & they erect the monument to Robin II that we see in Mount Justice.
  4. Batman copes with this enough to get over that fact, enough so that -
  5. Tim Drake becomes Robin III.
  6. Tim Drake gets enough training under Bats in to become a member of Young Justice himself.

Also, though not necessarily a requirement, Robin II likely joined the team as well.  Otherwise I doubt they would have had his monument at Mount Justice.

Yep.  I'm fine with all of that, too.  :)

Yeah, I can tell you enjoy the series.  I enjoy it as well.  it is on par with Batman:TAS, JL, and JLU; my other favorite DCAU shows.  It reminds me of Teen Titans a bit except without the anime elements.  Teen Titans never crossed over to JL or JLU ever even though Speedy was on an episode of JLU.

Good show.  I'm glad it's back.  I can't wait to see where this goes especially when the others get back from their trial.  It'll be awesome NO DOUBT!!

Not True Milean, the original Blue Beetle (Ted Kord) was honored in the same room as Robin II and Artimas, so it not necessary they were members of the Young Justice squad.

Good point lazarus.  In any event, that Robin memorial all but has to be for Jason Todd.  Are they foreshadowing Red Hood???

wildwestie 10/2/2012 3:59:23 PM

i was thinking the same millean.  seeing the monument for another robin that hasn't been mentioned so far had me thinking they had some holes to fill in future episodes, which will be awesome.  love the series, spent the summer catching up on season 1 and rolled right into the current story line. Perfect!  The only thing that sucks is that now, instead of watching one episode after another, I have to wait a whole week to get the next installment.  Oh well...

I hope this isn't a spoiler for anyone since it happened in the last episode of last season, but

If I remember correctly isn't Artimis alive and Aqualad a double agent? They didn't touch on any of that in this episode so I wonder if they are still going with that.

Dazzler 10/3/2012 4:24:42 AM

This show is shaping up to be better than the Justice league show.  It prob is now anyway.

 "Lagoon Boy"?

lazarus 10/4/2012 4:48:21 PM

Yes Mayhem, Artemis faked her death to go undercover with Aqualad, and Lagoon boy was captured by the Black Manta and is but dead by now. And the best part, the core JLA members are off world currently under trial for crimes committed while under the influence of Vadal Savage. Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter, John Stewart GL and Flash are all on trial in another part of the galaxy. Now here is the part I have an issue with. Bats would have NEVER gone along with this.
