Good Grief! Has it really taken over 50 years for Charles M. Schultz's popular Peanuts comic strip to get the full action figure treatment? Apparently so. But thanks to Playing Mantis, the whole Charlie Brown gang will be hanging out on your toy shelf this summer.
After achieving huge success with its recent action figure line based on the classic 1964 RUDOLPH claymation series, Playing Mantis snatched up the rights for Peanuts. It's a move that's sure to give the company an even firmer foot in the toy industry.
"Seeing the success we had with the nostalgia line of product we already produce under the Johnny Lightning and Polar Lights brands, the owner of this company was seeking other memorable properties," says Playing Mantis Product Manager Michael Murphy. "Rudolph proved itself very well in the market and paved the way for other nostalgic characters. Peanuts has been around for over 50 years, and was prime for a toy line."
