Director Zack Snyder has posted a video over at Warner Bros' official website letting us know that his first week of filming has officially ended for WATCHMEN, the future adaptation of the Alan Moore DC comic. While nothing is really going on in the interview other then Snyder assuring fans that he is excited about the project and that his staff is extreme "Watchmen" fans, he does mention that he will be keeping us informed with the project as it goes along. Perhaps, there will be more video diaries in the future at the Warner Bros site.

I'll reserve judgment until that final cut comes out. And the miniseries remake, and the stageplay, and the young adults readers that will evoke a phenom like HP. And then I'll wake up. But seriously, show us that you were the man for the job Zack and then make Hard Boiled (Geoff Darrow and Miller's, not Woo's) with Mickey Rourke or Bruce Willis as Nixon/Carl Burns. Talk about NC17! WOO HOO!!

I think I am excited for this. I have never read the source material, but I like the idea. I also am a fan of Zacks...after Dawn and 300 (both of which I loved), I am sure he will deliver a good product.

Whiskey: I would recomend not reading the source mat before you see the movie. I know I have nothing to base this on except my own past history. I have found that if a book/graphic novel is fantastic the movie never lives up to it and I'm disappointed in the movie. But if I see the movie first, then go back and read the book, I tend to enjoy both. I think Watchmen will fall into this catagory. The graphic novel is too complexed to transpose well onto the big screen. I think a mini series on HBO would have been a better way to truly capture it's essence. I know I haven't seen one frame of the movie, yet I'm passing judgement already. Well I hope I'm wrong but.....

I second that MIKWOZ. Whiskey DEFINATELY DO NOT READ THIS UNTIL AFTER YOU HAVE SEEN IT! I ruined the movie experience of V for Vendetta by enjoying the Comic first. If you want to insure you'll enjoy this flick DON'T READ IT FIRST! Unfortunately I have read it so I'll probably hate the movie (but I hope I don't)
