Ladies and Gentlemen, this is what happens when you hang on too tight, and obsess too much over the people who bring you genre entertainment: Director/producer Robert Zemekis has gone to court to get a restraining order against an aspiring screenwriter who won't leave him alone.
According to papers filed with a Santa Barbara courthouse, the CONTACT/BACK TO THE FUTURE/FORREST GUMP director has been frequently faxed by one Robert Scott Miller, 35, after he passed on a film script penned by the aspiring screenwriter.
"[He] will not stop these alarming, annoying, and harassing communications until restrained by the court,'' the filings stated. The unwelcomed advances began after Zemekis and his company passed on the Miller script LOVE AND EVOLVE.
According to additional reports, Miller has been the victim of mental illness, and has claimed to be the second coming of Christ.
Now remember kids: When you finally meet the object of your adoration, play nice. This is why Steven Spielberg doesn't come to genre conventions anymore.
